Hey! I’m Marika (sounds like Mawr-ick-uh), and I’m SoulDog Creative. Well, the living, breathing, wild, and weird human behind SoulDog Creative. The rest is all dogs. Every bit of their beauty and magic inspires what I do here. They are my muses, but also my guides to loving and living life.
I’ve been telling dogs’ stories through photos since 2011 after launching my business as Dirtie Dog Photography. In early 2022, I made the decision to rebrand to SoulDog Creative in order to fully step into the new journey that was calling to me. A journey inspired by the life of my Soul Dog, Kerouac, and set into motion after her death. A journey filled with deep connection, adventure, and wildness. And lots and lots of emotional storytelling with dogs at the center of it all.
There is no me without her. It’s as simple as that. We are eternally connected. My Soul Dog and me.
Kerouac and I had a long, beautiful run here on earth together, and somehow it felt like it wasn’t the beginning or the end. Just one moment in an eternity together. I don’t know what happens after we die, but I’m less afraid of wherever we go after having had this journey with my Soul Dog. And I’m even more determined to do my best to really live while I’m here. And help others do the same with the dogs they love.
Everything I do in my life has a piece of her in it because she gave me enough magic to last a million lifetimes. And now, I want to share that magic with you and your Soul Dog.

Marika Moffitt is an artist and storyteller focused on expressing the spirit of dogs through photography. As the owner of SoulDog Creative in Seattle, Washington, Marika helps clients throughout the Pacific Northwest to honor their journeys with their Soul Dogs with one-of-a-kind artwork. Full of life and movement, Marika’s photographs touch deep within the heart of what it means to live the journey with the dogs we love.
Marika is also the founder of Seattle Pet Collective (a podcast sharing the stories of people who are doing great work within the Seattle pet community) and the co-founder/producer of The Limelight Pet Project (a multimedia campaign shining the light on harder to adopt animals and the people who care for them).
